Current week 37
Every year for the last twenty years Llanwyrtd Wells, the smallest town in Britain, has hosted the World Bog Snorkelling Champioships. The winner of the prestigious event is entered into the Guiness book of records!
This major shindig is nothing short of the biggest agricultural show in Europe. Builth Wells is bursting with visitors during show week and the car parks around the permanent showground run a park-and-ride service to move the crowds.
Livestock competitions are the big attraction and there are many categories including hunters, shires and agricultural heavy horses, beef and dairy cattle, sheep, sheep shearing and a whole host of other farming activities.
There are also ample opportunities for shopping at the numerous trade stands, and plenty of family entertainment.
The spirit of Christmas is always very much in the air at the annual Royal Welsh Winter Fair in Builth Wells at the end of November.
Every year Llandrindod Wells proudly presents the leading Victorian Festival in the UK today. Set in the beautiful heart of Wales, it is held in the last full week of August before the Bank Holiday.
As Llandrindod was a thriving spa resort in the Victorian era it seems natural to base the Festival on the Victorian theme. The town's unspoilt architecture provides a perfect backdrop to the celebrations, and on Temple Gardens and Middleton Street we have ideal venues for the many different types of street entertainment provided free throughout the day.
